Tan Boon Diam has been in legal practice since 1995, mainly inthe areas of commercial and banking as well as construction law. She has handled matters ranging from consumer and corporate loans to financial restructuring including standstill and settlement agreements, debt–equity swaps and third party indemnities. She is also experienced in legal documentation for consumer as well as commercial (trade) loans granted under the various Islamic principles. In the area of construction law, she has been involved in the negotiations and documentation relating to construction projects awarded to single entities, consortiums and joint ventures.
Due to her in-depth knowledge and experience in finance and banking, Boon Diam is highly sought after by clients requiring legal due diligence conducted on companies with specific financing requirements. Much of her time since 2003 has been occupied in this area of the law.
Tan Boon Diam is well regarded as a speaker and receives regular invitations to present seminars on legal documentation to employees of client banks.
